Suicide. Nervousness. Depression. Deep, dark waters. Endless void. Nothingness. A black so pure... Little voices reaching out from the crevices in my thoughts. Laughing. Screaming. Mocking. "Fool. You are so lost!" I endure... But for how long? Bitterness. Resentment. Regret. Acceptance. The sea rises to swallow me. I reached out a hand, pathetically grasping for... No one. Alone. Solitude. A fortress I built. A castle so strong. A citadel. To share my melancholy with darkness... Now these walls weep. They have seen me exposed. Have seen me cry. Have seen me break. My echoing cries resonate within the brick and mortar. Candlelight wanes, burns bright, then fades. A reflection of my will to live. "This castle is ours." I once said... To no one. This castle burns. With no escape from the flames. For I nailed shut these doors. I scream. Touched by embers. The first warmth I've felt in ages... I succumb.
